Today, on the eve of Christmas, the 24th of December, 2023, our parish had a special celebration. New priestly vestments, intended for use on Sundays and holidays, were consecrated. These vestments, rich in symbolism, are a reminder of the sacred duties of the clergy and the reverence with which we should approach the divine services.
In addition to the consecration of the vestments, the Rite of Blessing of Dalmatics took place. This ceremony marked the induction of new members into the “Altar Guild,” who will serve at the Lord’s Altar. The dalmatic, a wide-sleeved tunic, is a sign of service and dedication, and its blessing is a significant event in the life of any server.
May the All-Merciful Lord bless all the benefactors, and may the Holy Mother of God protect you under her veil!
